Beautiful Batiks

Before we headed into summer, I decided to put some Batiks on special.  These are just a few of them.  They ranged from $5.00/mt. to $7.50/mt. and a lot of people took advantage of the sale.  Before putting them on sale though, thought I'd like to make a little sample of something for interest.  Quite a few of the girls in our Strip Club have made a copy of mine and they're really nice.  Here is mine.

I know I'll be making more of these little table toppers and the pattern will be available soon.

Have a great week-end - it's a sunny and warm summer day and they won't last long - enjoy them while you can.
Cheers!

Can't believe it's been nearly 3 months!

I bet everyone thought I'd run away.  Well, no, but there's been lots going on.  I haven't done a big pile of sewing - had to get my eye fixed first.  Found I wasn't seeing what I thought I was.

Getting my eye fixed was something else!  I had to sit and sleep with my face down for a week. It was a bit hard but worth every minute - my sight has come back beautifully.  I am very pleased.

Will be back later, doing the washing today and must get to the clothes line.

Chat soon!

It's finally done....

It has taken a while, but I've finally gotten the District 7010 Rotary Quilt finished.  All the Clubs in the district sent in a block depicting their town or their Club projects.  It is very interesting.  So many different techniques were used and you can see some people are very creative. It has been finished since early April but it had to be unveiled to the Rotary District before I could show it off.  Here it is, being held up by the boys next door (the quilt is 86" high and they're a lot taller than I am).

Went to the Movies....

Tonight was movie night.  Dinner at the Cheesecake Factory - glorious strawberry shortcake for dessert.  Then to the movie.  We saw The Descendents.  It was too sad for me - if you go, take a box of tissue - you'll need it.  George Clooney was excellent, as ever!
Knitting tonight so will chat soon.

These are tooooo cute!!

I just had to show everyone the great tea towels one of my customers brought in this morningShe admits to being addicted to blanket stitching.  She's done a wonderful job - stitches so even.  The flowers and bunny are from the Spring Art To Heart book.  Great book!  Great stitching!  Keep up the good work.

I'm Still Here

Here I am again.  Sorry I've been so tardy in posting but I've been busy since the last post and I have lots of excuses:  Christmas, Granddaughter visiting, visiting family for Christmas, Guild Program Committee work, and yes, quilting.  I'm finally going to show my Celtic Letter.  It's a pattern by HDD Designs and I love it.

I couldn't believe how fast it worked up.  I may have to make some gifts of these.  I've had it framed and will hang it, just don't know exactly where yet.  Since moving here, we haven't hung any of our pictures but now that our new furniture has arrived, we can start.  Perhaps a good Sunday afternoon project.

I've also had a very big job to do and got it started over the holidays.  Just the borders to add and it's ready for the quilter.  Will do that tomorrow.  Show and tell later.

My granddaughter didn't want to sew this holiday season as she usually does - she just wanted to lay around and vegetate, so, that she did.  We enjoyed our time with her and look forward to our next visit..  Will have some fabric ready just in case.

It's been really cold and snowy here so it's nice to stay inside and sew.  Next, though, I have to tackle tiding up the sewing room and getting rid of a pile of "stuff".  I did take a few days and went through a large box of scraps.  Some got cut into strips to do string quilts.  I've really gotten interested in them after seeing Bonnie Hunter's over at Quiltville.  What a great blog that is!!!
I also cut squares and have a set of plastic drawers I got at Jo-Ann's that are nearly full now.  Guess I'll just have to get another set of drawers because I have a very larger hamper of scraps yet to cut.  It's a big job to get the backlog done, but my scraps will be much more manageable once it's done.  I've gotten the Accuquilt 2-1/2" square die and will get it going very soon.  Wonder if I can catch up on the mystery quilt our Guild started in September????

Well, I'm off now - chat soon..
